Last week was Homecoming Week at DSC!!! Homecoming calls for TONS of activities, and LOTS of fun on campus! :) There was "Rock the Mall" (where different organizations, and clubs on campus all have to come up with a "new rendition" of the School's Song, and perform it for everyone to see! You're judged on it...and the winning group gets a free lunch all together at the PIZZA FACTORY! Yum!!!) and I was able to compete with the Ambassadors and the SHE Club! You already kinda know what the Ambassadors do...but SHE Club is an all girls club on campus (kinda like a sorority sp?). AMbassadors did a Pirates theme, and SHE's did "Dixie through the Decades". I was a dixie girl from the 1980's! (no matter how old you are...it's still WAY fun to dress up! I actually wore my aunts old Dixie College Cheerleading Sweater from the 80's!) haha! All of the groups did so awesome, but AMBASSADORS WON!!! Wahoo!!! I loved being a "winning pirate!" ARRR Maities! :)
We also had the homecoiming Football Game, the Homecoming Dance and the Homecoming Parade! The Ambassadors, put together a float for the parade...Well Captain Huck did (see below), and he did an AWESOME job! The theme this year was pirates and we got first place for the float! You may ask yourself, "How big of a deal is the parade at Dixie anyway?" And the answer: Not a very big deal. But we did win $100! It was a lot of fun and got most of us pretty excited for Halloween. (Ange, I got some of this post from your blog...hope you don't mind!) :)
I was bummed, because I couldn't acutally ride on the Ambassador's float. I am currently the reigning Miss Washington County, so I had to ride in another entry. We were going to ride on our usual float, but that morning it was WAY COLD outside (by way cold, I mean probably like 60 degrees) and we didn't want to wear our formal n' stuff. Plus it was kinda windy, and would be difficult for the float as well. So we got smart, and decided to wear warm clothes, and drive pimped-out golf carts instead! Smart eh? haha! Being Miss Washington County, I'm elligable to compete at the Miss Utah Pageant in 2009, and the winner of that competes at the Miss America Pageant in 2010. My 1st Attendant wasn't able to be at the parade, but my 2nd Attendant was there! It's been an fun, eventful, and exciting year so far...to say the least! :)
I had to work, so I couldn't go to the game...but GREAT JOB REBS!
